President – Khud Kifalat Rozgar Trust

In 2008, the executive body of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed a vital issue as to how to provide support to the young and budding entrepreneurs who wanted ﬁnancial help to ﬁnance their businesses but were unable to get bank loans as they did not have collaterals required by the bank and also the interest rates were very high. It was decided to establish a trust aimed to oﬀer interest free loans to these aspiring entrepreneurs. This trust was named “Khud Kifalat Rozgar Trust” and the trustees promptly contributed Rs. 100,000 while committing to match the same amount annually. The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Amjad Saqib, Chairman of the Akhuwat Foundation, for not only encouraging our team and also for arranging training and technical support for our staﬀ. Since then, it has been a remarkable success story, providing essential funds to aspiring entrepreneurs. The fund ﬁnances without a ﬁxed limit, enabling projects to be ﬁnanced according to their speciﬁc requirements. I congratulate our team members and trustees on making this project a success and wish them more successes in the future which will not only create more wealth but more importantly generate more jobs which is badly required by our country.

Introduction of trust

Khud Kafalat Rozgar Trust, Sialkot is the brain child of Sialkot Chamber. Dr. Khurram Anwar Khawaja floated the idea in the year 2008. "In light of the increasing poverty and unemployment in our beloved country, the philanthropists of the Sialkot Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, in accordance with their tradition of service and seeking Allah's pleasure, established a Khud Kifalat Rozgar trust on June 30, 2010. This trust aims to provide financial assistance in the form of Qarz-e-Hasna to unemployed individuals in Pakistan based on the golden principles of Islam, enabling them to start small businesses and become self-sufficient instead of seeking jobs.

Legal Status

. The Trust is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1880, with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies. The Trust is Non-Profit Organization.

Mission

1.To take practical steps to end unemployment in the city and provide better opportunities for both needy and skilled individuals.

2.To empower the demoted individuals affected by poverty and unemployment by providing them with small-scale interest-free loans and offering possible training and guidance within this framework.

Purposes of the Trust

1. Provide small interest-free loans.

2.Utilization of the mosque as a social institution.

3.Volunteer spirit )All office bearers shall perform their duties without compensation

4.Transforming the borrower into a supporter

Basic Principles

1. To alleviate poverty among the poor and less prosperous households in urban and rural areas, and to increase their income by providing interest free loans.

2.Providing a strong economic foundation through individual planning.

3.Providing interest-free loans

4.Establishing a sustainable economic structure free from class conflict and fostering an environment of mutual brotherhood and love.

5.Providing Qarz-e-Hasna to those who are trapped in high-interest loans from moneylenders, thereby freeing them from the grip of usurers.

How to become a trustee and Donor

1. Get the trustee form from the trust office, fill it out, and submit it along with a cheque or cash amounting to one hundred thousand rupees as registration.

2.Donations for Qarz-e-Hasna are received from funds other than Zakat. The trust has a separate account for Zakat, which is used according to Islamic rules.

3.Each trustee will contribute a donation of one hundred thousand rupees annually to the Qarz-e-Hasna fund.
